Lucas is the kid who countless times during school, was told to turn down his rumbling voice. Then one afternoon, the teacher handed him a business card instead of a detention slip. It belonged to renowned radio and television personality, Grant Goldman.
"Go and use your voice to make a living," she said. So he did.
After finishing his HSC in 1999 and taking voice lessons with Goldman that year, Lucas set up home in Bathurst at Charles Sturt University. Over the next 3-4 years he took on his Commercial Radio degree whilst working on air and in production at 99.3 B-Rock FM. The production studio/voice booth and The RockShop at night were his until late 2003.
At the end of 2003, the Australian Radio Network beckoned. MCing outdoor events and in-store music interviews were de rigueur, but being heard was the passion. Stints with Jonesy & Amanda on WSFM, Summer Brekkie with Matt White and Leah McLeod on Mix106.5 as well as Midnight-Dawns on WS took up most of his time.
In 2007, Lucas took up the position of Breakfast Announcer at Sea FM Bundaberg, seeing him gain two ACRA nominations (one of which was a winner!). Positions at Star 104.5 Central Coast and Austereo Sydney in 2007-2008 followed, where Lucas made the decision to take on voice over work on a full time basis.
2008 and 2009 were very fruitful for him, with national television and radio campaigns for Austar, OPSM, Commonwealth Bank and XXXX Summer Bright Lager comprising just some of his workload, along with a role in the Logie-winning TV series, 'My Place'.
2010 started with a bang, with Lucas' voice now being heard abroad after a series of imaging for national New Zealand radio network, The Edge, as well as working with a renowned US musician on his latest release.
