For more than 3 decades Ross Symonds has been one of Australia's most distinguished radio and television broadcasters.
Ross began his broadcasting career as a Radio Announcer with the ABC in Brisbane. Soon after he was transferred to Sydney and eventually was appointed Senior National News Presenter Radio and Television.
During his time at the ABC, Ross also compered the Saturday afternoon sports show Sportsview, and was compere of the ABC-BBC radio show Family Favourites with an audience of 20 million in the UK.
In 1981, Ross joined Channel 7 Sydney as a News presenter, and soon after was appointed Chief News Presenter.
Breaking new ground in business communications, Ross hosted two series of 'A Look Down Under', a program promoting Australian Business opportunities and products in the American market through American Financial News Network.
Ross anchored Radio 2UW's (now MIX 106.5 FM) Breakfast News for 6 years.
Ross is in demand for corporate video presentations, voice-overs and MC roles and has been involved in a number of charities, being the patron of 'FIGS', working with Mission Australia for the education of homeless youth.
Other charities he's worked for include The Heart Research Institute, The Salvation Army, The Children's Medical Research Institute, The Children's Hospital and Save the Children Fund and Better Hearing Australia.
Ross has won the Newsreaders Clear Speech award 10 times.
He won the inaugural commercial radio Best National Metropolitan Newsreader Award.
Ross has been an Australia Day Ambassador for many years.
Ross is currently hosting 'Good Health Television' a program devoted to Health issues, including interviews with health professionals and including music and cooking segments.
It's shown in 1500 doctors' waiting rooms around Australia and has an audience reach of 2-and-a-half-million per month.
Ross spent 23 years as leading News presenter at Channel 7.
