Dorje, a NIDA graduate, has been consistently working in film, television and radio for over 18 years.
As a 12 year old he worked in the radio play 'Yagan' for ABC Radio in Perth, and made his professional stage debut that year in 'Lochie Leonard Human Torpedo' playing a surfie bogan. By 14 he was the voice of several radio retail campaigns in New Zealand. The work has continued consistently in many shapes and forms. From memorable TV roles on shows like 'Home and Away' to 'Gangs of Oz', through to film work in 'Teesh and Trude' and 'Lets get Skase', and theatre work in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin and Sydney, Dorje has never been far from stage and screen.
Dorje also has 2 great passions, sport and theatre. He was a sports radio personality for Radio Fremantle and has acted in over 40 plays and even 2 WA Opera productions!
Upon finishing 3 years at NIDA, where he played Romeo in 'Romeo and Juliet' which toured to Glen Street Theatre, he spent a year bringing Shakespeare to people all over Australia with Bell Shakespeare.
While at NIDA he spent 15 hours a week in voice work for 3 years. Accents were mastered from all over the world and characters from Africa, Germany, America, England and Russia were added to Dorje's repertoire. He won the Shakespeare award and left the drama school with his sanity intact.
The final side to Dorje's psyche is his love of music. He played guitar and sung in one of WA's best loved punk bands 'Pailface' for 4 years, and has performed recently with indie band Daddy Matador in Sydney.
From 2006 to the present Dorje has voiced numerous campaigns for Telstra, Optus, Austar, Renault, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Hyundai, Lipton, Smirnoff, Nokia, Sanitarium, Lenovo and numerous other companies from all over Australia. For television he has voiced for SBS, Showtime, Boomerang and Discovery Science. Internationally he was also cast as the Voice of Castrol.
Dorje hopes to build on an exciting few years in the voice over industry, in which he learned a great amount, but also had a fantastic time. He is always ready to leap into the studio, strap on the earphones and get close to mike*.
*The microphone, that is. Not a person. Obviously!
